BREAUNA + LONNIE, JAMAICA

  • How lucky are we that we get to work in paradise? Really lucky! When Breauna contacted me about their destination wedding in Jamaica, I was all sorts of giddy.  It was our first visit to the island, and quite honestly, we were so busy leading up to their May wedding, we hardly had time to research.  We were beyond shocked at how dreamy the clear water and beaches are in Jamaica.  For real, postcard worthy.  We experienced the best weather, laid by the beach pretty much all day, swam, took a boat excursion to snorkel, hiked a waterfall that had me laughing pretty much the whole time and ended our 5 day “work trip” with one of the sweetest, most heart felt wedding ceremonies and celebrations to date.  They don’t say “no problem man” in Jamaica for no reason.  Really there are NO problems and no worries when you’re here.  Just listening to Bob Marley brings back this feeling of the island and slow paced lifestyle.

The ceremony site and beach, needed no filter.  Lined with palm trees that the staff would climb and cut you down a fresh coconut and cut it open with a machete for some fresh coconut water.  Yes please!  How about this view from Breauna’s ocean front suite?  Capturing her getting ready, with the little details and dress hanging was just perfect.  She was calm, jamming out to their music and surrounded by her loved ones, helping her with every last touch of getting ready.  Meanwhile, Lonnie and the guys were all laughs, and enjoying the excitement.  Did I mention how amazing Bre and Lonnie are?  Because they are!  They were trying to make us feel accommodated, all while keeping a smile on their face and keeping it cool, even though they were moments from walking down the aisle.  Now scroll down to see how it all turned out.

Tears were coming for almost everyone in attendance.  They promised with God, to love and support each other forever.  Followed by a big kiss and choreographed dance back down the aisle.  Lots of love and lots of happy faces in this group.  We were able to catch the last bit of light on the beach, for photos of just the two of them.  It couldn’t have been more perfect.

Now, we’re now currently figuring out how and when we can get back to Jamaica!   I attempted a ridiculous jerk recipe before we moved last week, to bring back the memories.  I left it unattended for just a few minutes and it went up in flames!   Round two attempt coming soon, because the jerk marinade was nothing short of amazing to my nose.  You better believe I’ll be blogging about that and sharing the recipe!  Enjoy my favorites from this dreamy destination wedding for two people we now call friends and will be able to photograph for years to come as their family grows.
